Question Upgrading GPU has somehow bricked my machine

Hey peeps,
ASUS GTX 1060 - ASUS ROG STRIX 1080
Ryzen 5 3600
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000Mhz
Samsung 980Evo SSD
Hitachi 1tb HDD
MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX
Windows 10
After seating the 1080 (pre-owned) and powering on the machine, it goes past BIOS and then Windows Repair starts. Can't enter safe mode, or any other mode for that matter. Just enters into automatic repair again.

Replaced with previous GPU to uninstall drivers etc.
Now no signal at all. No moboard LEDs. All fans spin. Restart with hdmi into moboard, no signal.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

motherboard will never give you signal because you don't have igpu

so it working with the 1060 but not 1080, what the brand and model of the psu?
test the 1080 on another working pc?

Ah crap, you're right!
I've always had Intel CPUs...
Now it doesn't work with either 1060 or 1080.
I have an older machine with an i5 2500k in storage.
I don't understand why it now doesn't work with the previous card. It worked perfectly before the 1080

sound like you unplug something when you remove and putting in the old/new gpu.
recheck all cable, data, power, and fan

They we all okay. I'm very careful with handling components and take precautions against static damage etc.

I removed the CMOS battery, waited 10 mins and restarted with the 1080.
It posted, but still the same Windows Recovery issue, so I did a fresh Win 10 install onto a spare M.2 and it works fine.
Hooked up the main SSD and all files have been relocated into Windows Recovery folders. Very odd.
Maybe the mobo needs a BIOS update.
