I have a Custom build PC from 2013

Asus A55M-A Mobo

AMD Richland A-10 6800k CPU

2x Kingston hyper X beast 4GB ram

Gfx Radeon R9280x card

PSU Aurum 92 series PT 550M

NZXT tower case

Nocturna dual fans

1 TB HD

I'm thinking of upgrading to an Nvidia 1050ti wf2 4gb gddr PCI-E and wondered if this would work.
As my current GPU has power it no display.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What's the better option of those two and would you know if thier would be any compatible issues ?
i'll leave that research up to you, they're basically on par with each other, some games the 1060 does better in other games the rx 580 does better in, 1060 vs rx580 benchmarks (results may vary due to AMD/Nvidia having better drivers than what were available when the benchmarks were made)
there generally shouldn't be any compatibility issues, personally i like AMD over Nvidia/Intel

i'd suggest upgrading to a 1060 6gb or newer for Nvidia or rx 580 8gb or newer from AMD if you're keen on upgrading for a relatively low cost, as metal said a 1050ti would be a downgrade from your current r9 280x

Oh okay, but my R9280X is only 3gb PCI-e card ?
The reason is that my gpu isn't working atm so I need to replace is and I only have a budget of £170
with that budget you could get a new 1060 6gb or rx 580 8gb Newegg GPUs UK i imagine with taxes it'll push it a little higher than your budget unless you go for a slightly lower end card like a 570 but the little bit extra is definitely worth it imo
