Hello :

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4650 currently on my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180t Desktop PC
What I would like to know is what is a good upgrade from this video card. I dont need the best but better than this one at latest. I dont play too much games but sometimes. I have a 40" Sont TV 1080p connected to my PC and use to watch TV and Movies sometimes. I will add a second monitor in the future too.

The problem with this old Graphic Card is the fan is not working anymore and I am having Blue Screen constantely.

You can check my other specs on the site here :

I have a 460 W PSU

Here are some more specs:

i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz, 3068 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
1 TB SSD ( upgraded )
18 gb Ram ( upgraded )
Radeon HD 4650 PCI Express x16
Will install Windows 10 soon .... ( have win7 now )

I obviously want a better graphics card than this so
What are some good options?
Budget is up to 120 USD ....... I have seen a lot cards but I am confused with so many options in the market. I dont want to buy new PSU or add some extra hardware to get a good card I guesss .....

Some cards I checked were the shown below but 'm sure I'll get a good advise here

Sapphire Radeon R7 240 4 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA
Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2 GB GDDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/DP

Thanks You !

The 260X is not a bad card for the price. You might be able to fit in a 270/370 and still be within your budget. You could also look at the GTX 750 ti or GTX 950. If you are willing to look at used cards, the R7 270 and 370 are basically the same as the old HD 7850. As long as your PSU has the right sort of power connector, any of those should work.

Don't be fooled by the 4GB of RAM on the R7 240: it's a junk card. That extra RAM won't give good performance. Absolutely avoid anything with DDR3.

Did this work for you? I have almost the same setup. I just reverted to the 4650 after getting driver errors and blue screens from a GTX 660Ti. I fought with it for over a week. I`m thinking something was incompatible.

Hi, did the GTX 750 Ti work for you? I have the same PC as you do but I heard the motherboard is pretty bad due to it being cheap and HP not supplying BIOS updates to support UEFI. I heard MSI's version of the 750 Ti might work due to it having dual BIOS but I haven't found a definitive answer as to whether it will work with Truckee-UL8E motherboard.
