Upgrading graphics card in 3 year old rig HD-5670 to R7 265?

Looking to upgrade my graphics card, current setup:

ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3
AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Ed. (unlocked) not overclocked
4x2gb Mushkin enhanced DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)
2 7200rpm HDDs(.5 and 1 TB)
XFX HD-567X Radeon HD 5670
Corsair CX430 psu

Assuming that I would have to also upgrade my PSU to 600-700watts, just to be safe(and be able to keep the same psu should I move to a 2 card setup)-
will it be worthwhile to get an R7 265 or better, or will I be limiting/bottlenecking its performance because of my dated setup? if so, recommendations?

Card I'm looking at: XFX R7-265A-CNJ4
Why: PCI-E x16, 2gb memory (double my current card), not 3 year old

If you have enough budge, you could upgrade both cpu and gpu!

I was looking to possibly upgrade my cpu, but was having trouble finding what chips are still being sold that an AM3 mobo could take. I'm trying to keep it under or at $200 for right now. And I figure my next build will be intel, anyway- I'm hoping to take the psu and gpu over to that next build.

That 270X is pretty close in price to the 265 I was looking at. But at 129.99, I have more room to upgrade my psu- I'm assuming my CX430 won't be near enough with either of these graphics cards, right?

Sorry I did not see that, my bad...

R7 265 will be enough on CX430, so you do not need to upgrade your psu!

For a system using a single Radeon R7 265 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 26 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most critical factor.

Really. Wow. And if I decide to jump to your recommendation of the 270x instead? ... all this time I was thinking I had to upgrade my psu. Even with my cpu unlocked to 4 cores? Sorry, I just want to be sure.

I just saw the psu calculator from that original thread. Thx a million. I was sure I'd need a new psu. I'm going to guess that there won't be any bottleneck issue using a 265 or greater gpu with my system, then, right?

So, if you go with r7 265, you should be fine!

r9 270x is about 22 percent more performance than r7 265.

If you go with r9 270x, you will need to buy a psu at least 500w

I really encourage you upgrade your cpu/motherboard. But, you are going to build another pc soon, then...
it will be fine, I guess...

If you overclock your cpu to 4 core, and buy r9 270x with a new power supply, then It should be Fine.
