Upgrading graphics card

Hello, my current PC hardware is as follows:
Intel Core i5-4590 Processor
AMD Radeon R7 260X (2GB VRAM)
ADATA 8GB RAM DDR3
Gigabyte GA-H81M-HD3 (motherboard)
Seagate 1TB Hard drive
Antec PSU 400W
I want to upgrade the PC for better performance. I thought of replacing the 260X with a GTX 1060. I thought about buying the EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC single fan. Is that a smart purchase? Will it work with the current PC hardware?

Yes, it is a good choice. However, your PSU is the minimum recommended, which is not good. Consider upgrading it to a 600w one.
