Hello dear experts! Currently I am using GIGABYTE GTX 770 (2gb) OC with Core I5 2500 k overclocked to 4.2 Ghz / 8 GB of ram. I have purchased GTX 770 around a year and a half ago. So my question is should I upgrade to GIGABYTE GTX 970 G1 edition to play at 1080 p or wait till next NVIDIA release. I would like to stick with NVIDIA cards at the moment. The main issue from my perspective that now more games demand more than 2 Gb of video memory and honestly I am regretting that I didn't pick up GTX 770 with 4 Gb of memory onboard. Also I would like to mention that in my country GTX 970 G1 costs around 260 pounds (385 dollars). So if I would like to resell my GTX 770 I need to add around 130 pounds (190 dollars) for GTX 970. Is it worth it? Thanks for helping!

Solution
I can't tell you if it's worth it since it depends on how much you value higher graphics settings. GTX 970 is around 30% more powerful than the GTX 770, and since it has 4GB of VRAM (or at least 3.5GB of fast VRAM) you can play with more anti-aliasing, higher textures, etc.

I'm a graphics snob so if it was me I would, but that's because I like pushing high res... right now I play at 4K with 2x R9 290s. But for you you might not. If you want to be able to play games with MSAA or perhaps even some supersampling and play with textures on ultra, then the 970 is your best bet... if it's not a huge deal to you and you're already getting 60 fps comfortably in most of your games, then the 970 is probably a waste.

Thanks I get your point. Of course I would like to max eveything out. But at the same time I want to have a balance between horsepower of GPU and amount of my investment in it. I've tried GTX 970 for couple of days and I liked it a lot.
