Question Upgrading, have a few questions!

Current build is:
i7 5820k
16GB DDR4 2133mhz
ASUS X99-P Prime Motherboard (has 1 m2 slot)
EVGA GTX 690
256GB SSD (OS)
3TB External
Corsair 850w AX power supply

I was thinking of upgrading my GTX 690 and getting another SSD possibly an NVMe 2.0 3rd gen 1TB with it? What does everyone recommend? I've been seeing/noticing stuttering in games more frequently lately and I also game at only 1080p, I always like performance more then looks in games, as I play some games semi-professionally. Should I go for maybe an RTX 2070 Super and a 1TB NVME m2 SSD 3rd/4th gen SSD?

NOTE The SSD I have now is an oldie from around 5-6 years ago, I was thinking of more of a performance one for games,etc now.
