Hello PC Mods,
Im building my new pc from scratch, and i need some advice. I would like to add an extra graphic to the HD readon i got as the z97 allow multi GPU sli/crossfire. Can i use a different graphic next to the HD readon? Also i was thinking to buy G Skills sniper series 16 gb.Thank you very much for help.

z97 Asus pro gamer,
Cpu Intel I7 4790k
AMD Sapphire HD readon 6850
PSU EVGA 1000 watt

No. If you want to SLI/XFire, you need to use the same model of GPU.

Hi Archi thanks for getting back to me so qickly. My budget is around £100 but i can stretch to £150. So would you say i just stick with the Readon, totally new and i upgraded later?I was just thinking cuz it is only 1 gb why i wanted an extra graphic more updated. I live in UK. Thanks

Wait, 100 pounds? Do you have the rest of the system already?

That Radeon card is of a very old architecture and very weak. Also, if you want to crossfire, you need two of the same model of cards.

I got all of it, just need to set the graphic and ram. then im good to go, I think im gonna buy the card you suggested, i know the readon is quite old cuz it was given to me as a gift long time ago, but i never used it. My last pc i built was a while back, and it was stolen recently, so now im building another and many things have changed. Yup, just make sure it is DDR3.

If it is possible, perhaps consider returning the CPU, Mobo and RAM and GPU if you just bought it. If you have a higher budget, you can definitely do better than this, although the 4790k is still quite a powerhouse for today.

I had most of the components and telling you the truth no way im gonna give up my Devil's Canyon, i love my i7, why i went all this trouble to build around the thing. Like you said it s a powerhouse processor, so im good.. Yes the ram im tlaking about are for the LGA1150 socket DDR3, the mobo i have, i already checked. Thanks again for the help. God bless.
