Radeon HD4200 (integrated Hybrid Graphics)

Aprevia 500watt power supply

I have 2 PCI slots, and 1 labeled PCIEX16

New to this. The game plays, but not real smoothly at lowest settings.

I just added some mods and it is less than desirable. I don't need the best resolutions, but would like a good value for the dollar.

I plan to replace my computers within a year so I am trying to keep the costs down a bit. $75 to $125 if needed.

Thanks in advance!!

If you are going to upgrade your computer within a year, then I might suggest that you wait with any purchase until you know what to get. If you buy a video card like the suggested R7 260X and later want to build a system with better components, then this video card will probably hold your back.

I would suggest that first make clear what kind of system you would buy today (as the jump in development between CPU generation haven't been that large lately). From that build it would be possible to see what video card that might fit your need better.

If we talk only about Skyrim, then you should also add a list of which visual mods as some of these might demand more VRAM then 2 GB in resolution around 1080p or higher.

This fellow's got the idea. Anything much more than this, and your CPU would simply bottleneck you. In addition, your 500w PSU would power this card beautifully. If I had your system, and without assuming you want to go and upgrade everything, I'd get the r7 260x. And when you DO upgrade your system, as you said you would, the r7 260x is still a decent modern gaming card. You could toss a second one in if you'd like, too.
