Upgrading laptop to windows 10

Solution

Windows went out and found everything itself for the HP. I did literally nothing but click install. Driver support in Win 10 is pretty excellent for most run-of-the-mill systems (Intel IGP, Intel chipsets, etc)

The one I did have issue with was finding a display driver for another laptop with a C2D ATI-based chipset. Just forced it to run the Win7 display driver, and it runs fine.

What OS is on it now?
I have a similar vintage Toshiba, with less RAM. It runs Win 10 OK. No slower than the previous Win 7.

I know that everybody else will chime in with their opinions but what I say is that specs are only part of the equation. The most important part of the equation is drivers and if HP has drivers for your computer that are Windows 10 compliant then your PC should work well with Windows 10.

Look at HP.com. See if they have created drivers for it.

But my Toshiba runs all the basic functions just fine with the default Win 10 drivers. It depends a LOT on what you use this system for.

No, there is no free upgrade. Amazon has Windows 10 for $99 and other dealers are charging between $89 and $109 US for Windows 10. All you have to do is buy the license and we will walk you through the installation.
