Upgrading Memory - need an advise!

Hey All!

I have a little bit of dilemma here.

Now my ram config is : 4x1GB - in dual channel. So all the slots are taken.

I decided to upgrade to Win 7 64Bit, and up my ram a little. I was thinking of picking up 1X4Gb stick of the same ram, and leave 3X1GB in of the one i have now. So this would leave me with 7GB in total.

I am pretty certain the dual channel will not work with this config.
So for Win 7, does it worth the upgrade? or am I fine for now?

I use my PC primarily for gaming.

Q6600@3ghz,
4x1GB 800Mhz OCZ
2xGTX260SLI
680i Evga mobo

The only OS that use this mount of RAM is SUN SOLARIS (i think). I have win 7 x64 ultimate with 4Gb and run perfectly.

And the 7GB can run in dual channel, Intel have a caracteristic called "flex channel" that permit run 3, 5 and 7GB in dual channel.
