I'm looking to get a tiny bit more FPS when I'm gaming and I'm curious If upgrading from 8gb 2400mhz to 16gb 2400mhz of ram will increase my performance at all? I know typically it wouldn't help a regular cpu but i've heard apu's are very ram dependent. I'd appreciate any reply.

Solution
APUs are indeed RAM dependent, but in a different way. The integrated graphics rely heavily on memory BANDWIDTH, but not necessarily memory amount. DDR3-2400 is as high as you can realistically go on an APU, so assuming you have 2 sticks of 4GB you've hit max bandwidth.16GB will only benefit you if you're actually maxing out 8GB. You could try dedicating 2GB of RAM to the graphics in the BIOS and see if that changes performance. I have an A10-7870K with 16GB of DDR3-2133 and frankly the 16GB is overkill for an APU.

TBH if your willing to spend an extra money for another 8gb of 2400mhz which i'm assuming isn't very cheap, you should consider getting a refund for all your parts and making a build with a dedicated cpu and gpu
