Upgrading memory or buying a new laptop

Hi guys,

I need 8gb in my Laptop: https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/N61Jv/

It is 5 years old, so I am not sure if it's better to buy a new 8gb laptop instead of upgrading the RAM. What do you think?

Also, do you know which 4gb RAM modules should I buy for my laptop?

It really depends on what you are try to be able to run on your current laptop.

Your current laptop uses DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM, 2 x SO-DIMM and does have the capacity to go up to 8GB. With 4 more GB of RAM you will see an overall speed performance for running programs and playing games, but it won't enable to you play much newer games - you would need to get a new laptop with a better graphics card for that.
