upgrading mobo / processor

I am looking to upgrade my processor but i am not sure what to get. right now i have a AMD FX 8320e and Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB x2 DDR3. i am not looking to change my ram so what would be the best ddr3 motherboard / processor i can get that will go good with my GTX 970

no, both the AM4 socket and the LGA 1151 (8th gen compatible) socket only support DDR4

for ryzen i would get a B350 motherboard, the choice depends on the country you live

well unfortunately as my post says i can not upgrade my ddr3 at the moment. is there anything i can get that supports ddr3 and will be good enough for a year or two at least?

it might but i don't think it is worth it

you could get an lga 1151 ddr3 mobo but newer cpus will be no longer compatible with those boards

would a i5 4690k be decent? i can get that and a motherboard pretty cheap right now
