I'm looking for an overhaul of my system, since I bought the GTX 1070 some months ago and want the rest of the system to be up to date.
My current system:
Gpu: MSI Geforce GTX 1070
intel(r) core(tm) i5-4440 cpu @ 3.10 ghz
8 gb ram DDR3
1x 256 gb ssd and 1 tb HDD.
550 watt power supply BeQuiet (Bronze 3 1/2 years old)
Motherboard: ASUS Z87 K C2
I've been looking at this upgrade:
I5 8600k
MSI Z370 Pro Carbon
DDR4 2x8gb G.Skill 3200 MHZ
Or
I5 8600k
Asus Prime z370-P
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400MHz 2x8GB
The price difference is around 100 euro, where the first build is the most expensive one.
(I don't mind switching out parts)
1) I read on some forum that the i5 8600k works best with ram thats 2666mhz+ and that 3200mhz is the sweetspot. So is it worth paying a few extra euros?
2) Also will my old Noctua NH-L9x65 CPU cooler do fine with the i5 8600k. Not overclocking for now of course.
3) I can't really decide whats the best mobo for the price. I like the MSI, but I feel like you're paying a bit more for the flashy stuff. But i'm also afraid that the ASUS is too cheap.
This system should last me 2-3 years.
4) Any other suggestions, like another mobo, ram or CPU?
OBS: I play games like ARK, Fortnite, League and The WItcher. Also I do some light Editing for youtube.
Edit: My budget is around 600 euros. Also I prefer a system that just works from the beginning, i'm not really that much of a tech guy, hence why im asking here.
