Hello everyone!

I've been stalking these forums for a while as I've gotten into upgrading my PC.

I started out with a Dell Inspiron 580, and recently upgraded the power supply and video card. I also just recently bought a case, and come to find out the motherboard doesn't have connections for the front panel of the new case. Apparently this is one of the motherboards which dell used some crappy proprietary connection. I'm not sure what my current motherboard is.

Could anyone recommend a budget friendly motherboard?

This is the processor I have currently, will it connect to a new motherboard with no issues? Also would it be worth upgrading the processor as well?

Inspiron 580, Intel Core i5-760 processor(8MB Cache, 2.80GHz)

I'm looking to spend maybe $200, and can stretch as far as $300 for a decent upgrade. I would prefer to keep the current processor if it is compatible and as long as the processor I mentioned is decent.
