Hi guys,

need your help to upgrade my old card. The goal is to play current games like The Witcher 3,GTA 5 and future games.

Right now is looks like this:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 6x 2.80GHz
MSI ATI Radeon HD5850
ASUS Board m4a88td-v evo/usb3
8GB RAM

Actually I just wanna upgrade my GPU, but I dont mind changing some other parts. I dont have an exactly budget and just wanna see what could be the best low priced way to upgrade my rig.

Thanks in advance.

Your best choice is to get a GTX 970. To get 60+ FPS in Witcher and GTA 5, you definitely need a GTX 970. I suggest the Asus or MSI one. I also suggest you pick up an Intel i5-4460 because your CPU will most likely bottleneck the GTX 970. I suggested the 4460 because it's one of the cheapest I5's and it's very good. You will also need a new mobo If you are going from AMD to Intel. Get the Gigabyte z97-hd3. If you can't afford to get a new mobo , change your CPU to FX6300 so it doesn't bottleneck the GTX 970. If you are going for a major upgrade, I suggest picking up a i5 4690K, an Asus z97-A mobo and the GTX 970.

And a new Windows license if changing mobo/going Intel, keep that in mind.

R9 290 if you have the psu for it. a fair bit less money than a 970.

Don't buy a video card for the next 3 or 4 weeks, new cards coming out will "probably" bring some prices down.

Your CPU is the problem with the GTX 970. It will bottleneck it. I suggested a new mobo because if you change your CPU and go for Intel you will need an lga 1150 mobo.

No, there will not be any issues with your motherboard. Your cpu might be a slight bottleneck, however, its not really a big deal. The x6 1055t is still a fairly fast cpu. Sadly, your motherboard does not support the fx series cpus. I recommend making sure your bios is up to date before upgrading.
