Well, first we need to know the make and model of the laptop.

You can also find out how much memory the laptop can have and what type it needs by going to www.crucial.com and using their system scanner tool (last I knew it was a Java web application).

Okay. According to Kingston, that laptop can take up to 16GB (with two 8GB modules) of DDR3L SO-DIMM memory at 1600 Mhz.

This Crucial memory should work fine for just under $76:

This kit is a little faster (CAS 9 instead of CAS 11) and more expensive at almost $93, but it does look nicer:

Hi there, thanks alot man!!!! Do you now a good SSD? I need that too, + do you think that the 16GB ram and SSD will improve my computer ALOT?!
And after i've upgraded it can i call it an "overkill laptop" or something like that "best editing machine"

AND.. my last question will this improve a little bit on gaming?

No problem. There are many SSDs that will do well on a laptop. Most of them will also improve battery life. I personally prefer the Crucial brand SSDs because they last almost forever. I also have a laptop with a Samsung 850 EVO as well, and it improved the battery life by 20% as well as making the system boot in 4 seconds instead of 28 seconds!

Right now the best options for SSDs are probably Samsung and Crucial, but any SSD will be much faster than a normal hard drive. I would stay away from the Samsung 840 EVO, as it has known issues. All of the other Samsung drives should be fine, though.

The editing on the system will be pretty good, but there is nothing much that can be done to improve gaming on it.

If you want decent gaming you normally need a dedicated video card. Right now the Intel Iris Pro, NVIDIA Geforce 840M (or 940M), or AMD Radeon R7 M360 would be the minimum that I would go with on a 1920 x 1080 laptop. Since you can't upgrade video cards on most laptops, you usually have to buy your laptop with the one that you want.

Good luck!
