Upgrading my 8gb dual kit ram

Hi

I have this RAM and am looking to upgrade my PC to 16gb. The problem is i can't find this type of RAM being sold anymore, so i wonder if i can pair it with this one.

I have an Asrock H87 performance Fatality motherboard.

You can try, it's not really a good idea to try and mix DRAM, it can be and often is problematic. Especially in the case, the Hyper X Blu(s) operate under XMP where the Fury sticks run off of PnP, many have had problems trying to get these sticks to play nice

So what you're saying is i should just get a complete 16GB kit. Damn shame i wanted to save some money.

As I mentioned - you can try, just mentioning the pitfalls, it's basically a 50/50 crapshoot - either they play or they don't - if they don't can be looking at return shipping, restocking fees (if they even give refunds/exchanges) lost time, etc. Many buy a new set and sell the old

You know i'm not willing to take that risk. I think i'll just get a complete 16gb pack and know it's gonna work.

There is one thing i forgot to ask you. Must i strictly look on the mobo list of ram or will any DDR3 ram work?

You can run about anything that falls into the specs, I generally go Ripjaws X or Snipers on Haswell, the Trident X is best but can be pricier 😉
