Build Help/Ready:

I am upgrading my CPU and Motherboard. I now have and AMD FX-8350 Black Edition, and an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard. I am planning on buying an i5-4690K and an Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150. Is this a good buy or upgrade? Would this upgrade be worth it? Another question is how would I go about replacing these? Do I have to uninstall CPU drivers and how would I take out my current Mobo?

My Build as seen from Speccy: http://imgur.com/dBxvD0y

Also, my case is a Cooler Master Elite 430. http://us.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/case/mid-tower/elite-430.html

Cheers.

It's an okay upgrade, how much performance difference you'll see will be heavily limited by your GPU though.
Windows should run noticeably faster though at least.

But you basically just take your old motherboard out of the case, and put the new one in. And you'll most definitely have to reinstall windows, because it considers the motherboard "the computer" and if you switch motherboards, it thinks it's a new computer, because really it is, and then says you're trying to pirate windows.

But basically it's a reverse motherboard installation, unscrew the motherboard screws and take it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIF43-0mDk4
You would reinstall windows completely if you change your motherboard.
Just swap the cpu and motherboard out and after plugging everything in, boot up the windows setup to reinstall your OS.
If you have an OEM licence, you will need a new window licence. If you have a retail version, you can reuse your product key.

The upgrade will be "worth" but only if you use it for gaming... because intel have a better performance per core. Yes you will have to take out the mobo from the case, remove everty component from your old pc and move them to the new mobo.

If you don't have experience building a computer try checking tutorials on youtube or if you don't want to do it pay to someone that knows how to do it like a specialized shop or something like this.

don't think it will be that big of an upgrade especially since directx12 will be using upto 6 cores/threads so the difference in performance in games will b hugely diminished .. a better upgrade will be zen or cannonlake in 2016
