Hello
This is the first time I will ever upgrade my laptop by myself and I'm scared that I might accidentally buy RAM that doesn't work on this old laptop

There is 2 sites that I'm thinking of buying from and I just wanna ask if any of these will work on ASUS X555LAB

Crucial Laptop RAM DDR3 8GB 1600MHz SODIMM Memory PC3-12800S PC3L

Ramsta DDR3 8G SODIMM RAM 1600MHz Auto Compatible | Laptop Memory Notebook

(I'm from a third world country that's why the sites are from third world countries)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

I'd steer clear of the Ramsta sticks of ram. The ram that's on your laptop out of the factory is 4GB and it's soldered to the motherboard. So if you do want t upgrade/max the ram to 12GB, you'd need to get a single stick of 8GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v ram.

I'd also look into getting an SSD. You could replace the ODD with a secondary drive caddy.

Thanks for the tip!

On another note, will the Crucial sticks that I linked work? The model I'm looking to buy there is the 8GB DDR3-1600MHz 1.5v one but I'm kinda worried since I read on another post in this forum that I need "- DDR3 PC3L-12800 204pin CL=11 DDR3-1600 1.35V SODIMM"

The one on the store says its a " - DDR3 PC3-12800s PC3L 1600MHz 1.5v SODIMM."

Is there any difference between the two?
