Upgrading my build - looking for assistance

So as of now I have a i7-3770k paired with 16gb ddr3 at 1333 mhz with a gtx 1060. I plan on playing 1080p at 144hz or 120hz on games such as WoW, Overwatch, csgo. I'm trying to debate between getting an i7-7700k, or the ryzen 1700. Everywhere I look I get mixed results. Thanks for your help.

Ryzen is going to be cheaper, and apparently new chips are also going to come out on AM4, where Intel might move to a different socket making your upgrade patch need to include a new mobo

Intel is going to have better overall performance in general, probably better speeds too. typically more expensive to go with that.

Personally, I like Ryzen, good luck though!

Your current rig is capable of that already why need an upgrade?

@jaslion I am keeping the old parts to put a pc together for my basement. Its going to be upgraded regardless just trying to figure out the best choice

O then get Ryzen just be sure to get fast ram as ryzen performes better (sweetspot is between 2666-3000 after 3000mhz there is barely any difference.)
