Upgrading my Comp need help

Budget is about 400 any advice on what need upgrading and links to parts would be appreciated

Current Specs
MOBO: Asus P6T SE
GPU: XFX R9 280x
Ram: 8gb Ripsaw
CPU: I7 920
PSU: 650 PSU Gold Edition

Wait for skylake to arrive and get a new mobo with an I5.

depends on the goal and how urgent is this upgrade. Waiting is usually the best option but remember something new is always coming out which can make people get into the rutt of oh this is coming next month so ill wait over and over. If you have a microcenter near by id get an i5 4690k and one of the mobos they combo it with. Price wise they cant be beat on their combos. That cost about 275 with the asrock extreme 4 board. now with only 125 left I would save a little bit and shoot for either a used 290 in the low 200 range or wait longer until you can either afford something better or a deal rolls around on a 290, 390, or a gtx 970

This is one of those times, that I recommend waiting, only because we are so close to Skylake's release.

I'm not quite sure what sky lake is, I read up on it is it a mobo+cpu? Will I be able to install it into my computer ?

Skylake is the code name for the 6th gen intel core cpu's.

You will need to buy a new mobo with it.
