Hey, so I am looking to upgrade my current CPU to a AMD FX 8350 and the reason I am upgrading is because I plan to buy a MSI GTX 970 and if I don't get the CPU my CPU will bottleneck it so bad. So, I am just wondering on how how I would replace my CPU.

For example, do I need to add any programs or can I just place the CPU into the socket and it will be all done? Do I need to head into the BIOS or anything like that.

Plus, I've got a Seidon 120M Liquid Cooler, so will I need to clean the thermal paste of the copper plate to get it working.

- Thanks.

So, I should clean the old thermal paste off from the heatsink? With the alcohol thing right?

It may not be as simple as the answer above.
What is your current cpu and motherboard?

Some motherboards are not suitable for a FX-8350 processor.

And... FX cores are slow. Upgrading from a FX-4300 or FX-6300, for example will buy you more cores, but the cores are not significantly faster.
Many games depend on a single fast core for performance.

My current CPU is a AMD FX 6350 and my current motherboard is a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P I believe.
