Upgrading my CPU with the same socket type.

Hi.

I'm looking at upgrading my CPU. My current CPU is a Quad-core AMD operaton 2356. With the socket F (1207). I'm looking at upgrading it with the same processor type however with 3.1ghz. Because both of the CPU's have the same socket type, will my new CPU work?

Check your motherboard's cpu support at the manufacturer's site. If the faster cpu is a newer release, you might need a BIOS update to support it.
