Upgrading my CPU, worth it?

Hello everyone, i have at the moment a fm2+ socket motherboard with a AMD athlon X4 860K CPU.
i want a better CPU, but with the same socket. i saw on internet the AMD A10-7890K Processor. is it worth $100 upgrading it? Will it increase much FPS in games, or tasks like just browsing or whatever?

Not worth while and we need to know exact motherboard to look up if it is supported. Also I would drop any money into such an old platform (FM2+), save your money until you can do an upgrade to a modern platform if you want to see good gains.

I have a ASUS A88XM-A motherboard with a Gigabyte AMD radeon RX 470 videocard. (budget build)

ok thanks, are there some good cpu's with fm2+ socket on the market? Or could i better just save some money and buy a new motherboard with a different socket?

No, the FM2+ is just too old. AMD's latest CPU's run AM4 and their are no APU's yet, in the new year when cheaper motherboards are out a modern Intel i3 or i5 would be a huge upgrade at reasonable price.

Also rumors are that around February amd will start releasing new ryzen chips.so depending what time frame you are looking at that may be something to consider as well.
