hey, first time im upgrading my computer so im kind of clueless, i have a ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 939 Socket CPU and was just wondering whats the best CPU i could upgrade to? thanks for your help -Jim

That is a list of all the CPUs you can use. You might be able to find ones close (like the 4600+) for a lot cheaper, so that website will help.

It does matter. The compatibility list says:

"Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4800+rev.E6 (Socket939) "

There is a Socket 939 variant that should work with your motherboard.

You can't use that one. That's a 940 AM2 version. And yes, that is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+.
