Upgrading my CPU

I have a older HP desktop model number a6763w. I'm wanting to upgrade the processor but I don't know what the next step up would be. My options are •Phenom with Quad Core (Agena) technology (AM2+) up to 9600 (up to 95 watt TDP) •Athlon64 X2 with Dual Core technology up to 5600+ (up to 89 watt TDP) •Athlon64 less than 4000+ •Sempron less than 3800+
Can some one help me please?

I would say the Phenom II X4 B99. It has 4 cores, 6MBs of L3 cache, and is clocked at 3.3GHz. If you decide on something else, try to go for the most cores and the highest clocks (I doubt HP motherboards allow overclocking). I don't have much experience with AMD CPUs but this seems like a good option to me.
