Upgrading my current Gaming PC, need help!

Hey guys! I'm 99% sure my GPU just quit on me (EVGA GTX 670) and I'm trying to get a game-plan together to upgrade next week. I'm sold on the GTX 1080 but wanted to make sure it would be plug and play. If there is anything else i'll need to do I want to knock it out now while i have it all out. (I decided to drain the coolant and replace it)

My Specs are:
ROG Maximus V Formula V
Intel i7-3770k
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ
I did have 16GB but I had a stick fail..
XS240 rad with 4 fans push/pull
850 watt XFX Pro850
128GB boot SSD
128GB Games Drive
2TB External Drive.

Any potential bottle neck or issues with power or ram? I'm running Windows 10 64 btw.

You're fine, but you may want to consider getting another matched 16gb kit of RAM before it really starts thinning out due to being discontinued:

As mentioned above. You are set to go! Drop a 1080 in there and you will be all sweet. There won't be any issues with the Power or RAM.
Defs get some more RAM though before it becomes harder to get. Then you will be set for years

Been a while since I built this thing. I just want to clarify, I have 2 4gig sticks. Are you saying i should get 2 more 4 gig sticks, or 2 sticks of 8? I just want to be sure. the ram you linked looks slightly different than the sticks I have too.

Both are 240pin DDR3 DIMM's, but you do want to start over with RAM and purchase a matched 16Gb set (2x8Gb). Matched kits are guaranteed to work together, and with your current kit being so old....adding to it with new DIMMs would have a higher likelihood of it not playing well with each other.

I would just treat your current 8Gb as a backup, or pick up a cheap G3258 and H81 board for a HTPC or Steam machine or something.
