[SOLVED] Upgrading my current system

So with the recent release of the new RTX line, and the difficulties getting the cards I'm currently deciding on whether I should just upgrade my current system instead. At the moment I am using;

CPU: i7-4790
RAM: 16GB DDR3
GPU: Zotac 1080ti

Would upgrading to a motherboard with DDR4 improve the performance of my current GPU?

i7-4790 support DDR3. You can't use that CPU on a DDR4 board.

Changing your board and RAM means changing your CPU too.

I had a i7-4770k and I switched to the 3900X. It's night and day.
