Hi.
I plan to upgrade my 2019 gaming build by doing a DDR4 > DDR5 swap and I would like to stay around €800-900 ($870-978) by changing as little as possible and still increase longevity.

I was thinking of changing the motherboard, CPU, RAM and, if possible, the heatsink and case.

Currently my build is as follows:
  • Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • RAM: G.Skill F4-3200c14d-16gfx
  • CPU Cooler: Freezer 33 eSports ONE
  • Power Supply: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650W
  • Video card: GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING 8G
  • Monitor: AOC 27G2G4
  • Case: NZXT S340

Disks:
  • Crucial MX500 2*TB SSD
  • Crucial MX300 750GB SSD

For CPU+motherboard+videocard+RAM I was thinking:

  • DDR5 32GB G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2x16GB TZ5NR RGB Black [F5-6000J3238F16GX2-T] - €122
  • Msi B650 Gaming Plus wifi 4xDDR5 ATX AMD - 170€
  • Ryzen 5 7600X - 203€
  • Msi GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Gaming X 8Gb - 384€

My country is Italy.

I don't know about heatsink+case...
What do you guys think?

Thank you very much,

While you have presented a very viable and solid option for an upgrade; the flipside to that is your AM4 platform still has an upgrade path that will put you on the same level of performance as the AM5 7600X. If you don't have a specific need for PCIe 4.0 or DDR5, then the following upgrades will net you higher gaming performance and more vRAM for better gaming longevity.
