Upgrading My Gaming PC Don't know what to get

Hi people i wanted to ask what are the best parts too upgrade on my pc.

my specs:

Case: Cooler master Lite 5
OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 ( 6 years old)
CPU: FX-8350 ( 1 year old)
RAM: 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance (2x 4GB) (6 years old)
GPU ASUS GeForce STRIX 1060 6GB (ROG) ( 1 year old)
PSU: Corsair VS650 (6 years old)
HDD: 2TB ( 6 years old)
SSD: 500GB ( 1 month old)
Resolution: 1920x1080 75hz

I want to play the latest games on high/epic.
I mostly can already but there are some pieces that need a upgrade.

My PC is super hot when playing high end games,
most of the heat comes from the CPU. ( probably because of the bad Cooler.

And some times my PC freezes for a minute, can move mouse in that freeze moment.
i have no clue what causes it.

my HDD is like 5 years old and is to slow so i put in a SSD,
i dont know if replacing it is needed because i run most programs on my SSD now.


if any of you have a idea of what is best too upgrade please tell me .

1. New and better quality PSU.
2. New CPU, mobo and RAM combo.

Rest looks fine. GPU is still good for 1080p gaming and there is really no upgrade path to just upgrade your CPU.

Yes, Kasper's recommendation would work well with that budget. Maybe something centered on an i5-8600k or i5-8400?
