Upgrading my Gaming Rig, will this work?

Thanks to everyone that helped me in my last thread!

I think ive narrowed down the parts that I need to do a decent upgrade on my system. I need to know if this sounds like a decent upgrade or if anybody recommends anything different for same or less money. Right now on tiger direct and Newegg, I can get all these with shipping for around $800.

Here is what im running at the moment and what I plan to upgrade:

Antec Nine Hundred Gaming Case - KEEPING, WILL THIS BE OK FOR NEW PARTS?
nForce 680i SLi Motherboard - M452-5213 MSI Motherboard
Intel Core2 Duo Extreme X6800 2.94ghz Socket 775 (scythe cooler) - Intel Core i5-2500K
EVGA Geforce 275 GTX 768mb PCIe - Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB DDR5
Sound Blaster Fatality Xtreme Gamer Sound Card - KEEPING
Corsair Dominator (4 sticks 1 Gig each) PC28500 DDR2 - GSKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB DDR3 1600 PC3 12800
Wester Digital Raptor 150gig 10k rpm & 2 75gig - Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM
PC Power Silencer 750w Quad Power Supply - KEEPING
Samsumg 24 LCD (runs 1900 x 1050 in natural resolution) - KEEPING
Windows Vista Ultimate - Windows 7 Home Premium 64

Any alternates to what I got that may be better for less or more recommended?

No the Core i5-2500k requires a newer motherboard. H6x series do not have overclocking, but it has onboard graphics which you won't need really. P6x and Z68s both have overclocking. I would go for a Samsung Spinpoint F3 instead, it's really good performance and 1TB of space. Your case will be fine.

The 900 will be fine. It holds all standard ATX boards and PSUs.

Get a P67 or Z68 motherboard. The one you've selected won't work with your i5-2500K

Good choice; it performs well at higher resolutions.

Samsung F3 1TB - it's a faster and less expensive drive than the WD Blacks. If those Raptors are SATA II, you may want to save them for system images of your OS, or just random file storage.

I've never heard of that resolution haha. Look at getting a 1920x1080 or better monitor down the road.

I looked up the F3 Spinpoint and ill definately switch to that one.

The motherboard I picked from the $1000 gaming rig article on this site. Does anybody recommend any specific motherboards, they are all so complicated as far what Im supposed to be looking for. Anybody have an specific examples and maybe a newegg or tigerdirect link?

Also is windows 7 a big upgrade from windows vista ultimate? Is there any good upgrade i can get instead of a full version to save money?

I'd look at spending ~$150 on a motherboard. Asus, Gigabyte, and ASRock make good boards. EVGA made good ones for a while, but their motherboard team went over to Sapphire, so we'll see how their boards do.

I'd look at something like the Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128494
It has plenty of expansion slots in a good configuration, and will support CrossFire/SLI. Not much differentiates boards these days, to be honest.

BTW: I can't find any information on that board you have in your list.
