SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i7-2700K
GPU: AMD R9 380X
SSD: Kingston A400 120GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866 C9 4x4GB
MBD: Asus SABERTOOTH Z77
PSU: (Not sure what my PSU is, since I'm not sure how to get the PSU out of my pc to check, but from what I can barely see I think it's 650W)
CASE: Fractal Design Meshify C

Hi there,
I have very basic knowledge when it comes to building pc's and what's compatible with what. So I was wondering if I could get some insight from others.

I want to upgrade my GPU in a couple months or so, when I have the money. Looking for something that can run basically most games with no problems. I've been looking into maybe an RX 570 or RX 580 or something, since my price range is around $250-$325 (this is in AUD Currency btw). I'm just not too sure what GPU would be best for my computer, and was wondering if someone with way more knowledge would know the best GPU for me that would fit my Motherboard easily and I'd have no struggles in my way when upgrading.

(In the future I'm going to upgrade my CPU as well, but that's a little while away from now and wanted to get GPU first since the 2700k does a pretty decent job for me right now).

I''d go a different way if I were you.

You have the nuts and bolts of a decent system. I would get a new mobo, CPU and ram, and use your other components. This will get you by at 1080p/60 for a while and keep you gaming with a modern base system.

For me putting any new GPU in your current system is a waste, as it will be mostly bottlnecked by your 8 year old CPU (although great in it's day), so getting a good base system now, means you only have to get a nice GPU in a year or so, and you are good to go.

A Ryzen based system like this:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($117.68 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard ($110.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $308.65

Add your current GPU to this, along with SSD/HDD and then decide down the line to get another GPU. AKA RTX2060 Super.

This was really helpful man thank you so much, props to you for going in so much detail for me and helping me out heaps appreciate it. I will definitely follow the advice you've given, even though I've never built a pc or changed components before I'm sure I'll be able to learn by videos etc and slowly get the hang of it.

If you wouldn't mind, if I had any more questions in the future would I be able to message you?
Thanks :)

Thanks man I noticed that, all good though it isn't that huge of a price differential.
