[SOLVED] Upgrading my GPU and monitor. 1080p or 1440p? Budget 400 - 450 USD.

Solution
The higher resolution you go, the more gpu bound you will be.
Another thing to consider is what games you're going to be playing, some games are more cpu demanding than others, upgrading to a 3600x could give a performance of 20 fps and a 3700x maybe 30 fps in those games. But the majority of games will be gpu bound and there will be no improvement what so ever. So I wouldnt say a cpu upgrade is necessary unless you know you will be playing alot of cpu demanding titles.

In my country, Sweden, they only sell the super variants so I don't know the price difference but the rx 5700 or the 2070 non super is both good choices, but like I said. Just be aware of the drives issues and check for reviews.
I would recommend the GIGABYTE GeForce...

Are you looking to get a 144hz or 60hz monitor?

What's ur current system specs?

Are you looking to upgrade the rest of it later on or are you keeping the rest as it is?

EDIT: Either way, the RX 5700xt has excellent performance for it's price. BUT and this is a big but, many people have driver issues which makes the card unusable. If you can find a local store where you can return it if it doesn't work, I'd recommend it, otherwise not.

If RX5700xt isnt an option you can get either a rtx 2060 super or a rtx 2070 super if you can stretch your budget.

Buy a better cooler for your CPU, such as Hyper 212 evo and Gammaxx 300. for the gpu you could get a MSi GTX 1650 Super 4GB Ventus XS OC or RX 5500XT 4GB, and for monitor
Hi, I am looking for upgrade of ma GPU and monitor. My budget is 400-450 USD for GPU and 300 USD for monitor. Should I aim for 1440 or stay 1080p? Which GPU would you recommend? Below is some info about my build.

Here, i edited your build a bit, since you got a separate budget for your gpu and monitor, try to take a look: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GKc7HB

Thanks for replies and to answer your questions.

I do not plan on upgrading the rest of my build. Would it be necessary in your opinion? I have bought this CPU about two years ago and I thought that it should be enough for a while.
Just to clarify on the CPU cooler, I have this fan but 14 inch big and additional tower radiator or how it is called in english. Do you think I still should upgrade the cooler?
The size of the monitor will depend on some more things. One thing is the final resolution. If it will be 1440p then I would take 27" monitor, if 1080p I would probably take 24" or I would need to somehow try 27" monitor with 1080p to see if it is acceptable for me. I am from Czech republic so I will shop in local market.
My current monitor is Acer G225HQV so it will be a big difference for me. Also, I would probably want to save up as much as I could because there could be more "good" monitors for 1080p for less money than 1440p monitors where I would need to pay more to get some decent quality I think.

EDIT: I might also buy a 27" 1440p monitor and use it at 1080p and maybe wait until new GPU generation comes but I am not really sure I would be able to wait :)

EDIT 2:
It seems that 2060 Super and 2070 Super are way over my budget in my country. It seems that I should by the 5700 XT Here is what I found.

GPU
For 480 USD:
GIGABYTE Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G
ASROCK Radeon RX 5700 XT Taichi X 8G OC+
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 WINDFORCE 2X 8G

For 440 USD:
Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 5700XT 8G
GAINWARD GeForce RTX 2070 TwinX 8G
GAINWARD GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Ghost 8G
ASROCK Radeon RX 5700 XT Phantom Gaming D 8G OC

Monitor
24" 1080p:
AOC C24G1
AOC 24G2U/BK (probably the best in this category)

27" 1080p:
AOC 27G2U Gaming

27" 1440p:
AOC Q27G2U/BK Gaming - 350 USD
Samsung C27JG56 (and similar Samsung models) - 300 USD and lower
IPS panels start at 370 - 400 USD and go higher:
HP X27i 2K Gaming
LG 27GL83A-B

I would recommend the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 WINDFORCE 2X 8G since.
I don't know anything about Gainward so I can't comment on them. But all of the models you listed should be fine

I would definitely getting a better cpu cooler tho, I know Artic freezer has good reviews so here's one in the entry level

What are the goals/expectations and what gaming style do you have? There's a huge difference in being an open worlder playing games like Guild wars 2 or WoW or Skyrim, and a fast first person like CSGO or LoL or Forza.

As detailed and graphical as open world is, a 1440p/60Hz is great, but for first person speed a 1080p/144Hz is far better. The balance would be a 1440p/144Hz but the power it'd require is pushing the limits of gpu.

Monitor size is a matter of distance. At a normal desk, about arms length away, a 1080p 24" is best. Moving upto 27" means you either back up a little or run into grainy issues as the pixel count is exactly the same, but the pixels themselves are visibly larger, so look grainy to most ppl. This is the benefit of 1440p at that distance, the pixels are physically smaller than at 1080p, even on a 27", so the detail looks sharper.

It's like looking at a 50" big-screen TV from 10 feet away looks great, but make it 3 feet away and it looks terrible.

I usually play LoL, No Man's Sky and I would like to play new titles like Cyberpunk 2077. My favourite games are RPGs like Witcher but then there are games that I play with friends like PUBG for example. I sit at a standard desk at approximately arms length away from the screen.

I will probably get 5700 XT. I looked up some tests and it seems that 5700 XT is just a little bit slower than 2070 Super so I don't think that it would be worth getting 2070 non-super over 5700 XT. There is a law in my country that every internet purchase has 14 days period during which you can return the purchased goods without any reason so I think I should be fine for testing all kinds of driver issues that 5700 XT is supposed to have.
