Upgrading my gpu for gaming

I'm looking for a new gpu that can run next gen game
my current rig
CPU: i5-2500k 3.3Ghz
MT: AsRock H61M-HVS
PSU:ATX 600W P4

I was looking into msi r9 270 gaming 2g 2gb alot but can i run this with no problems ?
my budget around 250$

give me some of your thoughts please!

What about a GTX 770? Those have droped to about $250 at this point, and would beat an R9 270.
