Question Upgrading my GPU might have ruined my build

After upgrading my GPU from a 1060 3gig (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pKX2FT/evga-geforce-gtx-1060-3gb-sc-gaming-video-card-03g-p4-6162) to a certified refurbished 2070 from Zotac (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bF97YJ/zotac-geforce-rtx-2070-8-gb-video-card-zt-t20700a-10p) my EZ Debug lights on my motherboard have turned on for the GPU. I shut my PC down and booted it back up. The Debug light turned off for my GPU but turned on for my CPU (Ryzen 5 1600x) and my DRAM (2x Ballistix 8gb 2400). I fear that installing the GPU might have short-circuited or ruined my other components, but I have enough power from my power supply to support all of it. I have tried switching graphics cards, and taking out the sticks of ram and swapping them but the lights are still on and my PC won't boot. Also all the fans and lights in the PC turn on and work (CPU fan spins, GPU blower spins). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you yet have the older GPU, try and use that to restore the system to it's original specs. Also, the TX2070 ha a higher power draw than the GTX1060 3GB version.

Can you borrow a PSU from a friend or neighbor, who has a reliably built, quality unit to rule out a PSU incapable of delivering the necessary power to the entire system?

Can you borrow a PSU from a friend or neighbor, who has a reliably built, quality unit to rule out a PSU incapable of delivering the necessary power to the entire system?

I swapped my old GPU back in but the lights on my motherboard still stay on the CPU and DRAM. My PSU has 650 Wats and the total Watts for my current build with the new GPU is around 480-500. I don't have another PSU I can use to test.

I have also tried resetting the CMOS to no avail.

are you sure you hooked everything back up properly and check the modular connections to the psu maybe something came lose while working on it?

newegg reviews are rough 30% 1 star


Pros: worked great and tried to play nice with a cpu with thread timing issues before I got a new one

Cons: died after I got a new cpu via rma became very slow and 50% of the time I got a vga/gpu light error before complete death after reseating the cpu to see if it had thermal compound in the socket

Overall Review: would only recommend for early adopters not very stable or durable for productivity

All of the cables are seated properly, I think the issue is with the power supply.
