Upgrading my GPU

I'm upgrading my GPU and was wanting advice on the best card for the money. I'm wanting to stay in the ballpark of $250-$350. I play The Division and would love to rock the graphics in that game.

My Specs:
i5 2500K
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600
ASUS P8Z68-V LX
Thermaltake TR2 750W power supply

My current GPU is a Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 6870.

Any advice/opinions are greatly appreciated!

i would get a gtx 960 or a r9 380 however if you can spend about 320$ the price of the 970 is going down and it is a LOT faster than a 960 and 380

It's very bad time to upgrade now. There is AMD Polaris coming out soon. For ~300$ you will likely have the top model 480/X. AMD will announce new GPUs on the June 1, so if you are patient enough you will know more, despite that even the old GPUS will drop in price significantly as soon as Polaris and GTX 1070 show up next month.

Ofc it's on sale, Nvidia is trying to fill it's pockets before it's to late. Buying one before new GPU's are announced/shipped is just plain stupid, this card will be obsolete next month.
