Ok so I have had my PC for a while and the integrated graphics of the A10 5700 has been pretty good in the applications I used it for. Now I wish to actually use a discrete graphics card on my system. Any good recommendations?
So far I've been thinking about this card, the Powercolor PCS+ Radeon HD 7870 Myst. Edition http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131484
It's supposedly almost as good as a 7950 due to the Tahiti architecture. Ofcourse since I'm upgrading the Graphics card, I will also need to get a new Power Supply as this 300W one can't run anything more than a HD 6670.
This Seasonic 620W one has been my go-to one : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095
All though, some one has recommended to me this Corsair 650W one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
I plan on using the graphics card with my CPU which will probably bottleneck because of the lack of the l3 cache but I'm willing to live with it until I can get enough money to get a new Motherboard, a new processor hopefully a Core i7 as I want to render videos out really fast, and maybe a new Operating System CD because of the motherboard change? I also plan on using dual monitors in the future. I game in 1080p.
Here is the computer I bought so you guys can have an idea of the specs. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220217
Any issues with the PCI-e Slot compatibility or whatever?
Anyways, give me some tips, tell me if my plan will work out or not. I have no specified budget really, I just don't think paying like $400 will be much of a benefit for me. After I get the new Motherboard, I may Crossfire my Graphics card with another one, I read that you can crossfire the Tahiti 7870 with a 7950 or 7970, I hope this is true. Anyways, thanks in advance for any suggestions.
