Upgrading my Graphics Card

Hey

I am thinking of upgrading my graphics card from a Geforce 8800GTS 320MB to a Geforce 9800 GT 1GB. I would like to know if my system is capable of running the other card. Im not on my PC at the moment but i think my PSU is about 450W. Considering my PC could take the 8800, do you think it could take a 9800?

the 8800 & 9800 nvidia graphics cards are based on the same GPU - Nvidia have rebranded the chip several times.

To be sure that it will work full systems specs would be useful

+1 for ulysses. I would not call that an upgrade. Try gettin 260 GTX at least.

That puts you in 8800 Ultra, 9800 GTX, 9800 GTX+, GTS 250 HD 3870 X2, HD 4850, HD 5750 territory witha 3 tier jump or 9800 GX2, GTX 260, GTX 275, HD 4870, HD 4890, HD 5770 for a 4 tier jump.

actually +1 but not for that reason(although its true theyre pretty close,the 8800 gt is faster though and uses less power)

i think what he meant was,the 8800 gt and the 9800 gt are essentially the exact same card,same gpu,same configuration etc etc.
