Hi all.

Is it worth upgrading my GTX 550TI for something like GTX 750TI or R9 270X ?

I was checking some benchmarks and obviously it performs better and all , but is it really worth it?

I'm looking to spend around 150€ - 200€ and I hope I can get something that would run new games at max... if that's even possible for 150-200€ 😀

In that price range all that I could find was; 750TI's and R9's... some 660's... or get another 550TI and SLI it ? Or did I miss any cards ?

Any advice?

Thank you all

better get new card instead of SLI route. 550Ti to 270X will have noticeable increase. but i would not say yiu will be able to max out everything. not when 270X only considered as mid range cards to begin with.

yeah, I was worried that those cards won't run much on max...that's why I was wondering if spending 200€ is worth it... spend 200 to change old mid range card to new mid range card... both won't max :/ hmmm

Please do not purchase another 550 Ti for SLI. It would not be worth it. Putting two weaker cards in multi-GPU configuration is generally less desirable than purchasing a single, more powerful card, mostly due to stability, driver, and support issues (some games like SLI/CF more than others), not to mention the other requirements and costs that come with doing multi-GPU configs.

If you really want to run everything on max, then my advice to you is to save up your money and buy a stronger card. The 270X will most certainly not max everything, especially if your processor is from around the same time as your video card - unless you have a high-end i5 or i7 from around 2011 I am sure there will be some form of bottleneck.

Im using AMD FX 8320... OK, defo no SLI then :) I will read around about 750ti and r9 and probably get one of those... Don't want to spend more on graphic card tbh, especially that after few months it will need to be replaced as it won't run new games... :/

So last question: 750ti or r9 ?? or other similar priced card ?

Thanks all

between 270X and 750Ti the performance lead goes to 270X. and it should be noticeable difference too. but for people with smaller power supply that's where 750Ti can play it's advantage. what other card you can find on those price point?

750Ti, R9 270X, 660?

between the three 270X is the fastest. 660 somehow sits between 270X and 265.
