Hey!

Basically, I have some spare cash lying around and I've decided against building a sffpc and instead just upgrading my laptop a little and grabbing an eGPU in the near future when there's a discount.

What I'm looking to upgrade right now are RAM, SSD and HDD. My laptop is Dell G5 5587 and here are the current specs to my stuff, taken straight from HWinfo 64:

1) RAM: 2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4 sticks; memory speed: 1333.3MHZ(DDR4-2666 / PC4-21300); manufacturer: Micro Tech.; Module part no: 8ATF1G74HZ-2G6E1

2) SSD: 256 GB SK hynix SC311 SATA 256GB; M.2 slot

3) HDD: some Seagate 1TB 5400 RPM drive, irrelevant.

What I planned on using as upgrades:

1) RAM: 2x https://www.gskill.com/specification/2/197/1540866931/F4-2400C16S-16GRS-Specification - are these compatible with my system? Will they be faster, same or slower than the current RAM?

2) SSD: I'm torn between this : https://www.newegg.com/global/hr-en/intel-660p-series-1tb/p/N82E16820167462 and this https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Internal-Security-SA2000M8-1000G/dp/B07VXC9QMH

both of these are currently good deals in the PC part shop where I'm going to grab 'em, as I understand the Intel one isn't an NVMe drive while Kingston one is? Nevertheless, are both of them compatible with the M.2 slot in my laptop? Which one of those two is better?

3) HDD: I'm just getting a generic 2TB HDD with 5400 RPM, I was thinking a Western Digital Blue drive. That any decent?

Thanks for the help!

Nobody with any answers regarding RAM/SSD? The deal in my shop of choice is ending soon and I'd like to get an opinion or two before I do spend my money. Thanks!

Hey, wondering whether my laptop's MOBO+CPU are compatible with this RAM:

https://www.gskill.com/specification/2/197/1540866931/F4-2400C16S-16GRS-Specification

My laptop is Dell G5 5587 with an i7 8750H, current RAM is:

2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4 sticks; memory speed: 1333.3MHZ(DDR4-2666 / PC4-21300); manufacturer: Micro Tech.; Module part no: 8ATF1G74HZ-2G6E1

Would those G.Skill modules be compatible with my laptop? Cheers!
