[SOLVED] Upgrading my Lenovo y720 cube

So I'm considering upgrading my Lenovo y720 cube by moving some of the parts from the pc over to a new case, is that possible?
For the record i want to replace the ram since this verison only has 8gb and only supports up to 16gb

FYI, I'd suggest that you leave the prebuilt's enclosure and it's innards alone. In fact if you try to do the math, you're just ramping up a negative return on investments. The case you've chosen is in atx full tower chassis while the board you have in the Y720 Cube is an mitx, which makes little to no sense why you want to plonk a small board into a very large case.

Are you beyond the warranty period for the prebuilt? If you want to get more ram, then just get a 2x8GB DDR4-2666MHz dual channel ram kit and be done with it. You own a 7th gen processor that cannot be overclocked and you're looking at a Z390 board which will only 8th and 9th gen processor. Even if you did get a Z series board for the 7th gen processor you have, you will only be able to overclock the rams frequency.

My advice, start fresh and leave the prebuilt alone. If you want a new system, perhaps see if you can save some money, then sell the Y720 Cube and then buy parts off the shelf, getting ti right this time out.

My plan is also to switch to an Asus motherboard as well as new ram when im getting a new case i just want to keep some of the old parts like cpu, power supply, graphics card and such. Isnt that possible?
