Hey guys, just wanna say I really had so far had some awesome experience using this advice forum here to build my pc and can't help but to seek more expert advise now, on my monitor.
I recently changed my graphic card to the 1060 series, and am now looking to upgrade or change my current computer monitor. As usual, I did a lot of research online looking through youtube etc and some models generally caught me.
My current computer monitor is actually a 24"Samsung Sync Master BX2450. An old model to be sure, but kinda good for displaying a 1080p with only 2ms response time, which is to me, ideal for gaming. I'm not currently looking for displays at 1440p or above as I would generally love to have a smooth 60FPS playing game with no/little frills. Also, I don't really know why but I personally feel that on a 24" or say 27" inch monitor 1080p and 1441p doesn't really come to a lot of major differences to the human eye in terms of pixel density.
Ok, so the first that caught my eye was the LG 29 inch Ultrawide, curved screen, IPS LED display (if I got that right)....

(Ok I know that this model has been discontinued in many western countries, however it has only started arriving to where I'm based, kinda sad I know).
Recently, I also came across another gorgeous monitor, The Samsung CF391. The thing which caught my attention was it's 32" and high glossy white surroundings with an amazing price for this range of monitors. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Curved-32-Inch-Monitor-C32F391/dp/B01D3BDXQA
While I'm inclined to get the Samsung CF391 monitor, I actually have some reservations on it.
The problem or dillema I have are the following:-
1) Display settings. My old rig monitor is at a 1980x1080 resolution which is exactly the same as the Samsung CF391. While the 29" LG one is actually 2850x1080.
2) There are mixed reviews on the net about the two units I wanted, but I would like to focus on the cons. For the Samsung, one of the cons were that for a relatively huge display, it should have supported a 1440p resolution, however because it only supports a 1080p, the display quality looks "streched". Now I haven't actually seen the unit myself to be able to subjectively comment on this.
For the LG, one of the cons were that the 16:9 display isnt exactly supported in a lot of games... hmmm.
3) Price & Availability. While I'm trying to look out for the best monitor out there I can find based on my specifications, units are not always available here, where I'm at.
So I would need some advise. Would you guys advise me to still go for a 1440p monitor, for "future proofing"? Or which of the units above would you think is more worth the upgrade based on my current rig? I'm not exactly sure what is Gsync, Free Sync etc, but I believe the Samsung one has Free Sync.
Thanks in advance, and appreciate your advise here.
