I've recently decided to upgrade my current motherboard (which is a business class model) to a z75 because my current processor is an Intel i7 3770. My questions are how to exactly transfer my processor from the old motherboard to the new one.

Are there any other things I should know when installing a new motherboard? I would like to know everything I need to make this change fast and smooth.

Thanks for all the help guys 😀. I was also wondering if there was some reformatting I have to do on my hard drives when I switch the motherboard.

If you install a new motherboard, you will have to install new drivers. So better create a backup first and then do a clean installation of Windows!
Install the drivers that come with the new motherboard and restore your files.

You can backup files using the following softwares or manually.

Hey, this is what a couple of friends told me to do. The thing is I bought an SSDrecently because I've run out of space on my primary HDD. I was gonna reformat my HDD and do a clean installation of Windows on my SSD because I want my computer to boot up much faster.

My question is do I reformat my hard drive and do a clean installation of Windows on my SSD first or should I do what you suggested?

Thank you very much for your help! Quick question: I have a few games on my hard drive that I want to move to my SSD how do I move the save files over to the SSD? The game files itself should not matter because I can just redownload the game.

If you use a cloning software like Acronis True Image then you can clone the entire HDD on to the SSD if the SSD has enough capacity. Or you can manually take the save games from their respective folders and replace them after your OS and games are installed.
