A few months ago my motherboard died and i dust off my old asrock n68-GS4FX to pari with my 8320E. Ive been seeing an awful lot of FPS drops on some games and it gets unplayable sometimes. I have a gtx960 and i feel like its really dumb to be on 20fps on games like league of legends. My question is if the min atx motherboard is not enough for my system? Do i need to change my motherboard (one click from buying a MSI 970 gaming) or maybe my poor performance is due to something else im not seeing.

My specs are:

CPU: AMD Fx-8320E
MOBO: Asrock N68-GS4 FX
GPU: Asus Astrix gtx 960 2GB
PSU: EVGA 500W 80 PLUS
RAM: 8GB HyperX Savage DDR3 2133 (from previous more powerful pc)

Thanks for the advice.

Did you hook up your monitor to your mainboard GPU? Thats how it sounds to me. The mainboard does not make that big of a difference (granted everything is supported) and a new one would not give you any noticeable better perfomance.

I just reset the BIOS, reinstall drivers and still the same.

Im aware of the limitations of the chip, even so, a dip on the performance on applications like lol or DOTA are not normal.
