So since my motherboard absolutely refuses to accept my new Sapphire R9 380 4GB (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2960088/computer-ton-slower-installing-graphics-card.html) We've decided the best course of action is to just upgrade my motherboard. I want to go a bit further than that though. I want to pretty much build a new computer mixing new and old components. These are the new components I would replace (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3s3PjX + the r9 380), and the old components I would keep would be:
- Corsair CX600M power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048)
- 1 TB Western Digital Blue Hard Drive (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136534)
- 2 sticks of 2GB kingston RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1YH1GV5256&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleMKP-PC-_-pla-_-Memory+%28Desktop+Memory%29-_-9SIA1YH1GV5256&gclid=Cj0KEQiA0Na1BRDlkqOcyczng5cBEiQAnEDa2LeSFBuIKVMrsrm52VBlKtV8XOc5mQQyFfqXr_ek4eYaAtOE8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds
- Phillps DVD-RW (I couldn't find a link to it)
- TSSTcorp DVD-ROM (same as last one)
The old components I would be replacing would be:
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67
Nvidia Geforce GTS 250
A cooler master case (Full size I think)
XFX MD-X58I-Ch09 motherboard
My setup currently has 12GB RAM (6x2GB)
I just wanna see if any of you see any compatibility issues that would make this setup a no-go. Also if any of you have any suggestions on parts other than the ones I have listed I would love to hear them. My only stipulation is that those 4 new parts stay around the $400 range or less. I don't want to buy anything that is much more expensive. Also at this moment in time I don't plan on overclocking my CPU, but that might change in a couple years or so, so I would want to get a case big enough to fit an aftermarket cooler such as (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-CPU+Cooling-_-N82E16835103099&gclid=Cj0KEQiA0Na1BRDlkqOcyczng5cBEiQAnEDa2PuMw8wUXB7Hk3w5SBs6YIsb29ji0BfTWH5Glg5RkJ8aAnT28P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds).
Thanks guys for any suggestions!
