So i got them each an SSD for obvious reasons and also want to get them a bit more ram but when i'm in Crucial.com i get options several different options for ram ex: X16 based vs. X8 based, DDR 2400 vs. DDR4 2666, CL=17 vs. CL=19. The laptop model # is HP 15-au091nr. Is that something to ever bother about or am i overthinking it? Also my sons just want to play games like Minecraft on it so will a Ballistix RAM prove to be of any benefits for this laptop? Thanks in advance!

The maximum supported is 16GBs @ 2133mhz - so a 2x 8GB, 2133mhz kit.
Or, if that's too much, then a 2x 4GB, 2133mhz kit.
A lower CL is better... and if you happen to get a faster kit, it'll still work in the laptop, you just won't be able to run at the rated speed of the ram.
2133 is the default for DDR4.

Thanks, i found out that those features are very negligible when it comes to the same type RAM type. I ended up getting 2 pairs of Hyper X DDR3L (2x4gb) one for me and one for my mom laptop since our computers are older and one pair of hyper X DDR4 for my son's laptop (2x4GB). 16GB is too much so i stayed away from it.
