upgrading my notebook's processor

Hello guys I would like to ask if I can upgrade my notebook's processor into inte i7 2640m. I'm afraid to buy it because I've read that it should be compatible with my motherboard socket and chip. Please help me to decide, what should I do. Here is my laptop specs and model.

Samsung NP300e4a
CPU Intel Celeron B800

Your not even the same family of processor. If you want increased performance either buy new laptop, add memory and/or SSD.

The i7-2640M will fit that socket. The cpu is most liikely not soldered, so it should be replaceable. The question is if your motherboard BIOS will support it. If that model laptop is offered with that CPU, then it should work if you have the latest BIOS. I did a quick search and I could not find any info on the net whether other people have updated. So my answer is that it may or may not work and will require further investigation on your part.
