[SOLVED] Upgrading my pc and need help.

Good day I'm wanting to upgrade my pc but I want to do it in the most budget friendly way possible and idk where to start with my old pc. I'm assuming this is going to require a full new rebuild but i am hoping i can salvage something.

Here are my current components:

• CPU: AMD 3+ FX-8370 Eight-Core
• MOTHERBOARD: Sabertooth 990fx R2.0
• RAM: 32gig DDR3
• GPU: GTX 980 SLI

the game I play 98% of the time is Sea of Thieves, I'd like to be able to run it at around 120 or 144 fps because 144 is the refresh rate of my 2 monitors.
I also play Monster Hunter World and sometimes Call of Duty Cold War.

TLDR I'm just really just wanting a very smooth gaming experience while playing sea of thieves and my old system isn't providing that and idk where to start.

Anything recent Ryzen 5/ Intel i5's etc are going to blow away that 8370, Just a Fyi a 8370 even overclocked to oblivion will bottleneck one 980 even worst with 2x in sli.

To save money I would sell 1x 980 market is super high right now, Take that money and buy a new CPU.Mobo and Ram. My advised would be a B550 board of your choice, ryzen 5 5600x and 16gb of ddr4 3200+ mhz.

Also most titles dropped SLI support awhile back.

yeah I gambled on the SLI and it didnt work out haha. I don't really know anything about Motherboards and CPUs but the power of marketing has been making me think Intel is better than AMD so in the back of my mind I have been thinking of making the switch.

Today, you can buy a i3-10100F processor, 16gb of ddr4 ram and a lga1200 motherboard for about $250.
The i3-10100 is about twice as capable as your FX-8350.

Sell One of the GTX980 cards.

I'd like to keep the total around 500-650 if possible. I have a couple SSDs in my pc at the moment and would transfer them over.

With that budget alone you will have no issues getting into something like I said above. Also keep in mind it really is a good time to sell your extra card.

A good deal would be the i5-11400 for about $150 more.
Buy the 11400 vs. the 11400f .
The f versions do not have integrated graphics that lets you run and test if you have graphics card issues. The price difference is only $5.

That would easily target your $500 budget.
